Media outlets controlled by the Taliban have reported that 1,203 refugee families returned to Afghanistan on Saturday, September 20. According to the Taliban-run Bakhtar News Agency, 810 families entered the country through Torkham in Nangarhar, 156 through Spin Boldak in Kandahar, 14 through Pul-e Abrisham in Nimroz, 90 through Bahramcha in Helmand, and 133 through Islam Qala in Herat.
Just two days earlier, more than 1,000 families had also returned.
The deportation of Afghan refugees from Iran and Pakistan is ongoing and has intensified in recent days.
