Pakistan’s military says its forces shot down four drones that allegedly entered the airspace of Balochistan province from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
In a statement issued on Tuesday night, June 30, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said the drones crossed into Pakistani airspace on June 30 from areas under Taliban control.
According to the statement, Pakistan’s air defense system was activated, enabling security forces to detect and intercept all four drones in the border areas of Balochistan.
The military said the drones were intended for use by active militant groups operating in the border region.
The statement added that Pakistan’s armed forces remain on high alert and warned that any violation of the country’s airspace would be met with an immediate and effective response.
