Dozens of students along with women’s rights activists have protested following the closure of girls’ schools in Kabul. It has been more than 400 days since girls have been deprived of secondary and higher education across Afghanistan.
A number of women and female students took to the streets Saturday in front of a school on the 2nd road of Taimani.
The protesting women have said that it has been more than 400 days that girls’ schools have not been reopened for girls, adding that this is a clear violation of human rights.
The main demand of these protesters is the reopening of girls’ schools above the sixth grade.
Meanwhile, the Taliban have said that they are working on a plan to reopen girls’ schools. However, this plan has not been prepared for more than a year.
