The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has announced that 416 Afghan migrants have returned to Afghanistan after being released from prisons in Pakistan.

In a statement on Thursday, November 5, the ministry said the migrants had returned through the Torkham border crossing in Nangarhar province.

This comes as Pakistan has intensified its arrests and deportations of Afghan migrants without valid residency documents in recent months.

Some detainees are returned to Afghanistan through border crossings after serving their prison sentences or completing deportation procedures.
