Russia’s Ministry of Defense says its forces have carried out a large-scale strike against military targets in Ukraine in response to what it described as “terrorist attacks by Ukraine on civilian targets inside Russian territory.”
Russia’s state news agency TASS reported on Sunday, May 24, that during the operation, Russian forces used “Oreshnik,” “Iskander,” “Kinzhal,” and “Zircon” missiles, along with drones, targeting Ukrainian military command centers, airbases, and defense industry facilities.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the strikes were carried out in retaliation for Ukrainian drone attacks on civilian targets in Russia.
The ministry added that all designated targets were hit and that the objectives of the operation were fully completed.
The war between Russia and Ukraine continues, while diplomatic efforts to end the conflict have so far failed to produce a clear outcome.
