Mikhail Galuzin, Russia’s deputy foreign minister, says Moscow is ready to negotiate on Ukraine if Western countries adopt a constructive approach.
Russia’s TASS news agency reported on August 4 that Galuzin made the remarks on the sidelines of the third Kazakhstan-Russia Media Forum.
According to the report, Galuzin accused Ukraine of withdrawing from negotiations and said Russia has always been ready for talks.
He added: “If there is a proper understanding among Ukraine’s supporters of the need for an honest and constructive dialogue aimed at addressing the recognized root causes of the conflict, prospects for such a dialogue may emerge.”
The remarks come as Russia’s war against Ukraine enters its fourth year following Moscow’s military invasion of the country.
