Pakistan recorded an 83 percent increase in violence-related casualties in the third quarter of 2026.

The Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) said in a report on Friday, October 2, that at least 1,415 people were killed and 558 others injured during this period.

According to the report, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were the main centers of violence, accounting for 98 percent of the total casualties.

The report said Balochistan recorded the highest number of deaths, with 829 people killed. The number of deaths in the province increased by 213 percent compared with the second quarter.

The Centre for Research and Security Studies added that civilian casualties increased by 36 percent, while casualties among security forces rose by more than 79 percent.

According to the center, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) recorded the highest number of casualties among groups that claimed responsibility for attacks. The group claimed 13 attacks that killed 117 people and injured 65 others.

The report said the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) also claimed responsibility for five attacks, in which 34 people were killed and 42 others injured.
