The Taliban say that 12 people were killed and four others injured following last night’s earthquake.
Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban, said on Saturday, April 4, that the casualties occurred in the provinces of Kabul, Panjshir, Logar, Nangarhar, Laghman, and Nuristan.
According to Fitrat, five houses were destroyed, and 33 others were partially damaged in the incident.
He added that a total of 40 families were affected.
Earlier, sources reported that eight members of a single family died in the Bagram district of Kabul province as a result of the earthquake.
The 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck parts of Afghanistan around 8:42 PM, with its epicenter reported in the Jurm district of Badakhshan province.
