Local sources have reported that the Taliban detained 20 individuals in Ghazni province, accusing them of belonging to Hizb ut-Tahrir (Party of Liberation), an international pan-Islamist and Islamic fundamentalist political organization.
According to information confirmed by Hasht-e Subh Daily on Thursday, October 26, the Taliban arrested these individuals from various parts of Ghazni during the past week. Despite the passage of one week since their arrest, the fate of these detainees remains unknown.
These arrests allegedly occurred after the individuals expressed support for Palestine, linking them to Hizb ut-Tahrir.
The Taliban have not issued any statements regarding this incident.
Notably, in the early days of Taliban rule, some members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in certain provinces welcomed and supported the Taliban. However, a few months later, the Taliban prohibited the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir, along with Jamiat-e-Islah and Najm.
Last year, a regional leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Ghazni was killed in a suspicious event. Moreover, the Taliban had previously detained dozens of individuals in the provinces of Baghlan, Ghazni, Kapisa, and Takhar on charges of belonging to Hizb ut-Tahrir.
