The Taliban have declared approximately 10 hectares of land in Paghman district of Kabul province as state-owned, following a ruling by the group’s special court.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice said in a statement on Wednesday, October 21, that the land had been classified as state-owned after the group’s special court handling cases involving usurped land in the central zone reviewed the relevant documents and evidence.
According to the statement, the land comprises eight plots located in the Arghandi area of Paghman district in Kabul.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice added that the group’s Commission for the Prevention of Land Usurpation and Recovery of Usurped Land had previously reviewed the plots and classified them as state-owned.
However, the Taliban said the case had been referred to the group’s special court because some individuals were not satisfied with the decision.
Previously, the Taliban had also declared approximately 24.4 hectares of land in Paghman district of Kabul as state-owned following a ruling by the group’s special court.
Since the Taliban returned to power five years ago, citizens of Afghanistan have complained about the group’s seizure of their land and homes.
