Local sources in Parwan have reported the detention of a former government military official by the Taliban within the province.
According to sources speaking to Hasht-e Subh, the Taliban apprehended this former military official on Monday night, August 22, from the village of Qala-e Nasro in the Baghram district of Parwan province and transferred him to an undisclosed location.
The individual in question, named Haqmal, previously served as one of the officers in the former government’s Ministry of Interior, working within Kabul’s security command.
Although the exact motive behind Haqmal’s detention remains unclear, sources indicate that the Taliban apprehended him due to his affiliation with the previous government’s military.
As of now, the Taliban have not issued any statements regarding this matter.
It is noteworthy that since their rise to power, the Taliban have detained, tortured, and, in some cases, executed hundreds of former government military personnel and their families under various pretexts.
In the most recent case, on Saturday night, August 19, nearly 19 months after the assassination of a former military official, the group also killed his wife in Sar-e Pul province.
