Local sources in Parwan say that the Taliban have detained six civilians, including three teenagers, in the Salang district of the province.

Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, August 23, that the individuals were detained by the Taliban at night six days ago in Salang district.

According to the sources, the detainees are residents of “Lalma Sabzak” village in South Salang.

Two of the detainees, Rais Agha Salangi and Nasrullah, had served in the police force under the previous government and had been engaged in personal businesses since the Taliban takeover.

The other four have been identified as Sharif, Mohammad Agha, Mirwais and Sohrab.

The sources added that the families of the detainees remain unaware of their whereabouts.

The sources claim that the Taliban detained the individuals on charges of attacking a checkpoint belonging to the group.

However, the sources stress that the detainees are civilians and have had no links to any political or military group opposed to the Taliban.

Meanwhile, last Thursday, August 20, the Taliban’s intelligence agency killed Hasib Panjshiri, one of the senior commanders of the National Resistance Front led by Ahmad Massoud, along with two of his associates, and detained 10 others in an operation in Salang district.
