Local sources say the Taliban have increased the number of their forces in Badakhshan following a rise in attacks by opposition fronts in the province.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, August 11, that the Taliban had previously established a security outpost in Warsaj district, in the Waghan area and the upper part of the area, with 12 soldiers stationed there.
According to the sources, the number of Taliban forces stationed at the outpost has now increased to more than 300.
Waghan village is located on the border between Pariyan district of Panjshir province and Badakhshan.
According to the sources, Taliban forces do not allow residents to move outside their homes after 9 p.m. and have imposed strict restrictions on people living in the area.
