The Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul following the recent airstrikes and violations of Afghanistan’s airspace, conveying its strong protest.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 29, the Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the protest was lodged in response to Pakistan’s airstrikes on residential areas in the provinces of Kunar, Paktia, and Paktika.
According to the statement, the attacks killed 36 civilians, including women and children, and injured another 163 people.
The Taliban described the strikes as a clear violation of international principles, humanitarian law, and Afghanistan’s national sovereignty, and strongly condemned them.
The Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs also accused Pakistan of attributing security incidents and attacks that occurred on its own territory to Afghanistan without presenting credible documents or evidence.
The Taliban added that such an approach is not only incapable of resolving the existing problems, but also seriously damages neighborly relations, mutual trust between the two sides, and regional security and stability.
