The Taliban have announced that transit vehicles traveling between Afghanistan’s Nimroz province and Iran’s Milak border crossing in Sistan and Baluchestan province are now operating around the clock.
Saifullah Mohammadi, head of the Taliban governor’s office in Nimroz, said on Monday, October 26, that around 400 vehicles carrying imported and exported goods previously crossed the border each day.
According to Mohammadi, the number of vehicles passing through the crossing has increased to 800 per day since 24-hour operations began.
Milak crossing, located on the border between Afghanistan’s Nimroz province and Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, is an important trade route between the two countries and a key channel for transporting Iranian goods into Afghanistan.
