Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has accused the Taliban of violating their commitments under the Doha Agreement and supporting terrorist groups.
In a post on X on Tuesday night, October 28, Tarar said the Taliban, contrary to their pledges under the Doha Agreement, have been providing shelter and support to fighters of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
He stressed that the continued presence and activity of terrorist groups on Afghan soil pose a direct threat to Pakistan’s national security, adding that Islamabad expects the Taliban to prevent the use of Afghanistan’s territory against other countries, in accordance with their international obligations.
The minister stated that Pakistan will not remain silent in the face of terrorist attacks and that the government has taken serious and targeted measures to protect its citizens.
Pakistani officials have repeatedly accused the Taliban of harboring and arming TTP militants, though the Taliban have consistently denied these allegations.
