A woman has been killed and 27 people injured after a cargo vehicle overturned on the Kabul–Jalalabad highway.
Younus Yousufzai, spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Laghman, said on Monday, September 28, that the incident occurred at around 9 a.m. in the Mashala Kamar area of Qarghayi district.
The Taliban identified driver negligence as the main cause of the accident.
Traffic accidents on the Kabul–Jalalabad highway have repeatedly resulted in deaths and injuries in recent years.
Driver negligence, excessive speed, and poor road conditions have been cited as factors in a number of these incidents.
