Sources say at least five people have been killed and 10 others injured in traffic accidents in Kabul, Logar, and Maidan Wardak provinces.

The sources told The Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, August 30, that three people were killed in a traffic accident in the Altimor area of Logar province’s center, while six others were injured in a separate accident in Charkh district of the province.

According to the information, the first accident occurred after a Toyota Prius overturned and caught fire, while the second resulted from a collision between two speeding Toyota Corollas.

Meanwhile, the Taliban’s police command in Maidan Wardak said in a statement that two people were killed and another was injured after two Toyota Corollas collided in Saydabad district of the province, along the Kabul-Kandahar highway.

Separately, sources said that two people were injured this morning after a cargo truck collided with several vehicles in the Arghandi area of Paghman district in Kabul province, along the Kabul-Kandahar highway.

Driver negligence, deteriorating roads, and failure to observe traffic rules are considered the main causes of deadly traffic accidents in the country.
