US sources have said that US President Donald Trump secretly flew out of Turkey during the NATO summit held there last month due to threats from Iran.
Reuters reported late Monday, August 10, that a US source had informed The Washington Post of the development.
According to the report, after Trump boarded the older Air Force One in Ankara in front of cameras, he was secretly transferred by an airport shuttle vehicle to a smaller military aircraft.
At the time, media reports said the US president flew from Turkey to the United Kingdom before traveling to the United States.
The source said the deception operation began with a credible threat against Trump.
However, the report said it remains unclear how Trump was transferred from the military aircraft to the older Air Force One after arriving in the United Kingdom.
