Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, is expected to travel to Norway this week for another round of talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
Reuters reported early Tuesday, October 20, citing three people familiar with the matter, that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, would not join the trip due to illness.
According to the report, the sources said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to attend the meetings.
In addition to Zelenskyy, the Oslo talks are expected to include Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, representatives from the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Poland, as well as officials from the European Union and NATO.
Meanwhile, Witkoff is also expected to travel to Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The visits come as tensions between Washington and Kyiv have risen in recent days over Trump’s approach toward Russia.
