The Ministry of Interior of Turkey has announced that since the beginning of this year, it has deported more than 57 thousand Afghan citizens who had entered the country “illegally”.
On Saturday, November 12, Anadolu Agency, quoting Turkish government officials as report that 57,174 Afghan citizens have been returned to their country this year.
Based on this news, the Turkish government has deported a total of 101,574 illegal immigrants of different nationalities during this period.
After the Taliban took over the control of the country, thousands of Afghan citizens have tried to reach Turkey through various routes, including Iran.
Turkey is one of the main routes for Afghan immigrants to reach European countries.
Still, a number of citizens immigrate to this country to find work.
Similarly, the Ministry of Interior of Turkey says that since 2016, they have prevented 2 million 712 thousand 148 foreign citizens from entering Turkey illegally.
