Numan Kurtulmus, speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, has accused Israel of intensifying divisions across the Middle East.
Al Jazeera reported early Sunday, September 20, that Kurtulmuş made the remarks at a civil society gathering.
According to the report, the Turkish parliament speaker claimed that Israel’s main objective in creating divisions among the region’s peoples is to pave the way toward reaching the “Promised Land.”
Referring to Israeli attacks in recent years against Palestine, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Qatar, Kurtulmus said Israel has drawn all countries in the region into tensions.
Relations between Turkey and Israel have also been strained in recent years over regional issues, including Syria.
