Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Kyiv and Norway have signed a defense and security cooperation agreement as part of a “drone agreement.”
Zelenskyy said on Monday, August 24, that he and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store also signed a declaration of strategic partnership between the two countries, known as the “Elisef Agreement.”
According to Zelenskyy, the signed documents will strengthen long-term cooperation between Ukraine and Norway in the areas of defense, energy and enhancing the resilience of the people of both countries.
Zelenskyy also welcomed Norway’s continued support for Ukraine and its allocation of about $9 billion for 2027.
Norway has supported Ukraine with financial, defense and energy assistance since the start of Russia’s invasion in 2022 and has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing this support.
