Ukraine has launched drone strikes targeting Russian energy infrastructure and a military base as NATO leaders gathered for their summit.
Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday, July 8, that Ukrainian officials said the attacks targeted several oil refineries, an oil pumping station, and a Russian military air base.
According to the report, one of the strikes sparked a fire at an oil pumping station.
Russian authorities confirmed that the attacks had taken place but did not provide details on the extent of the damage.
The strikes come as Ukraine has stepped up its drone attacks on Russia’s energy and military infrastructure in recent months.
