The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) has announced that it is undertaking the rehabilitation and reconstruction of a number of roads in Kabul to facilitate residents’ access to essential services.
The organisation said on Thursday, September 24, on its X page that, with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), road conditions in Kabul’s 17th district are being improved.
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme said that improving these roads could facilitate residents’ access to essential services and create more opportunities for people living in these areas.
The organisation added that the road rehabilitation project is part of efforts to improve living conditions in underserved urban areas.
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme said that this road is one of 21 roads being rehabilitated with financial support and cooperation from JICA, with the aim of improving conditions in impoverished areas.
