The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said that it continues to vaccinate people in Afghanistan against COVID-19 despite ongoing challenges.
On Wednesday, July 1, UNICEF wrote on its X account that delivering vaccines to every individual in Afghanistan comes with significant difficulties.
The international organization stated that, despite these challenges, nearly 87 percent of the eligible population in Afghanistan has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to UNICEF, more than half of those vaccinated are women.
However, UNICEF emphasized that, with support from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (Gavi), it will continue its vaccination efforts in Afghanistan.
