The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that the measles vaccine plays an important role in protecting children against a highly contagious and life-threatening disease.
In a post on its X account on Wednesday, June 17, the organization wrote that vaccination can prevent the spread of measles among children and save their lives.
UNICEF stressed that measles is one of the dangerous and rapidly transmissible diseases that, in the absence of vaccination, can have serious consequences for children’s health.
The agency added that, with the support of partner organizations, the vaccination drive for children is continuing in Afghanistan in order to prevent the outbreak of this disease.
