The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says it provides educational and skills training opportunities for girls who have experienced or are at risk of violence.
The organisation wrote on its X account on Wednesday, October 28, that girls are being taught vocational skills, including embroidery, at an educational centre supported by UNICEF.
UNICEF added that the training helps girls build greater self-confidence and take steps towards independence with hope for the future.
The programme, implemented with the support of UNICEF France in Afghanistan, comes as girls have been deprived of their rights to education and employment over the past five years following the Taliban’s return to power.
