The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said that, with support from South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is working to improve children’s access to safe water and prevent diseases caused by contaminated water.
The agency said on Sunday, October 4, that some children travel long distances every day to collect water from roadside lakes, which is unsafe for drinking.
UNICEF stressed that access to safe water can help prevent the spread of waterborne diseases and save children’s lives.
