US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has called on the US Department of Justice to investigate and arrest an Israeli soldier who is currently in the United States and is “potentially responsible” for the killing of five-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab in Gaza.
In a post on X early Tuesday, October 20, Tlaib said the United States, as a party to the Genocide Convention and the Geneva Conventions, was obligated to arrest the soldier.
She said the Israeli soldier should be arrested and investigated for war crimes and attempted genocide.
Meanwhile, the Hind Rajab Foundation has identified the soldier as Sean Glass. The foundation said the unit under his command was present in the area when the incident occurred and that he is currently in the United States.
Over the past three years, the Israeli military has repeatedly faced accusations of genocide in Gaza from some human rights organizations and several countries. Israel has consistently rejected these allegations.
