US Vice President JD Vance has said that Donald Trump will not allow the conflict with Iran to turn into a “forever war.”
Al Jazeera reported on Friday, October 30, that Vance made the remarks during a town hall meeting with voters in Fort Worth, Texas.
During the meeting, he defended the US administration’s military campaign against criticism of its involvement in the Middle East.
“We’ve been involved in Iran in some form for seven months. The United States has been dealing with Iran for 47 years,” he added.
He stressed that Trump would not allow the conflict to become a prolonged war.
The US vice president said that opposing lengthy wars did not mean rejecting the use of military force.
He added that Trump would achieve the United States’ objectives and then turn his attention to the administration’s other priorities.
