According to international media reports, US officials had taken unusual security measures due to concerns over a potential threat from Iran against Donald Trump as he departed Turkey.
The Washington Post reported on Monday, August 10, that Trump arrived in Turkey aboard a new Boeing 747 donated to the United States by Qatar during his trip to Ankara to attend the NATO summit.
However, when departing Turkey, Trump was seen on camera boarding one of the older Air Force One aircraft, while the new aircraft was also prepared for takeoff at the same time.
According to the report, a few minutes later, Trump was secretly transferred by an airport service vehicle to a smaller military aircraft, a C-32A, and flew on it to RAF Mildenhall in Britain.
The Washington Post added that US officials used the Air Force One aircraft as a decoy to conceal Trump’s location.
The White House did not directly comment on the report, but said that US adversaries had targeted the president and that all available resources were being used to counter these threats.
