The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that although floodwaters are receding in Nuristan province, the dangers associated with the disaster remain.
In a post on X on Tuesday, July 21, the organization urged people to follow safety precautions to protect their health and well-being.
WHO advised residents to remain aware of potential hazards, clean and dry their homes, and avoid contact with standing floodwater.
The organization also encouraged those affected to seek mental health and psychosocial support if needed.
The warning comes after deadly floods struck Nuristan, where, according to the latest figures released by the Taliban, 23 people were killed and 80 others were injured.
