Women’s Hair Salons in Baghlan Shut Down by Taliban

Women’s hair salons in Baghlan were shut down by the Taliban.

Local sources said on Tuesday, January 10, that the Taliban’s Vice and Virtue Agents in Baghlan, in addition to shutting down women’s hairdressing salons, have warned land owners and dealers to refrain from issuing rent premises to women’s hairdressing salons.

The Taliban’s vice and virtue promoters in Baghlan have called the existence of women’s hair salons seditious and against Sharia principles.

Sources added that the owners of markets and shops in Baghlan have demanded a 10-day deadline from the Taliban.

The Taliban have already closed women’s hair salons in Kunduz, Takhar and Badakhshan provinces.
