The 315th annual commemoration of Mirza Abdul Qadir Bedil, the renowned Persian-language poet, was held in Istanbul, Türkiye, with the participation of poets, writers, researchers, and enthusiasts of Persian language and literature.
The event was held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, and participants spoke about Bedil’s place in Persian literature, his mystical thought, and the influence of his works on different generations.
During the ceremony, a number of researchers and literary figures examined Bedil’s works and ideas, and selected verses from his ghazals were also recited.
The organizers said the purpose of holding the Bedil commemoration was to honor the poet’s legacy and preserve the connection with the Persian language and its literary heritage.
Mirza Abdul Qadir Bedil is regarded as one of the most prominent Persian-language poets and one of the most influential figures in the literary tradition of Afghanistan and other Persian-speaking countries. His works continue to hold a distinguished place among scholars and literary circles.
