“A Daf for Golsa,” the third novel by Manizha Bakhtari, a writer, university professor, and former Afghan ambassador to Austria, was unveiled at an event in Canada.
The event was held on Friday, August 28, in Langley, British Columbia, by the Darakht-e Danesh Academy and was attended by a number of Afghan and Iranian researchers, journalists, and literature enthusiasts.
During the event, Farzan Sajoudi, an Iranian linguist and semiotician; Mohammad Mohaghegh, a researcher and former diplomat; Mujib Khalwatgar, a journalist and head of the NAI media organization; Abdulrahim Ahmad Parwani, the educational resources manager at Darakht-e Danesh Academy; and Maryam Zareh-Nejad, an Iranian researcher, spoke about the novel “A Daf for Golsa.”
Bakhtari has previously published two other novels, “Sweet Ashes” and “The Four Daughters of Zarathustra,” and has also written numerous works on the history of journalism in Afghanistan.
