Tasnim News Agency has reported that following the publication of a Tweet by Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the remarks have been met with a wave of criticism and speculation.
Araghchi announced in a Tweet on Friday night, April 17, that within the framework of the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage of all commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz would remain fully open for the remainder of the ceasefire.
He added that this passage would take place through pre-coordinated routes.
However, Tasnim News Agency described the Tweet as “bad and incomplete” and wrote that it failed to mention important details, including the difference between the current situation and the period before the tensions began.
According to the outlet, these ambiguities have led to differing interpretations and increased criticism.
This comes as the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy transit routes, has always been at the center of regional security and political developments, and any change in its status could have wide-ranging international consequences.
