Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia, said that threats made by Donald Trump against Iranian civilization and its people were inappropriate.

Trump threatened yesterday: “If Iran fails to make a peace deal that includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, an entire civilization will be destroyed tonight and will never return.”

Australia’s prime minister has emphasized that any conflict must be conducted within the framework of international law.

He has welcomed the two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

Trump had previously threatened Iran: “Tell those crazy bastards to open the Strait of Hormuz.”
