Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that his country maintains close cooperation with Russia and China in political, economic, and military fields, describing the two nations as Tehran’s strategic partners.
Mehr News Agency reported on Sunday, March 15, that Araghchi made these remarks in an interview with the media.
According to the report, in response to a question about the possibility of military or intelligence support from Moscow and Beijing for attacks on US targets in the region, he said: “Russia and China are our strategic partners, and our cooperation also includes the military sector.”
Araghchi declined to provide further details but emphasized that Iran has good cooperation with the two countries “in political, economic, and even military areas.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister also referred to US attacks on Kharg Island, saying that these attacks were launched from neighboring countries and are “unacceptable.”
Earlier, the US President had announced that the United States had destroyed all military targets on Kharg Island and warned of attacks on the island’s oil infrastructure if Iran continued to block ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Kharg Island is Iran’s main oil export hub, with about 1.7 million barrels of crude oil exported daily last year.
