British media have reported that a former Afghan army soldier has been killed in the city of Bracknell in the United Kingdom.
The Sun Daily reported on Monday, May 4, that a former Afghan soldier named Abdul Wali Mamozai, who had worked with British special forces, was killed during an altercation in the parking lot of a market.
According to the report, four people have been arrested on suspicion of Mamozai’s murder.
Mamozai had arrived in the United Kingdom about seven months ago through the Afghan relocation and assistance program.
Habiba Haidari, Mamozai’s pregnant wife, told police that he went out with one of his friends three days earlier and did not return.
She said she became worried on the night of April 26 when her husband failed to come home.
Habiba added, “I called him more than 100 times with no answer. Then I went to the security guards to report him missing.”
The report states that Mamozai initially stayed at a hotel in Crawley, West Sussex, and was later transferred to the Grange Hotel in Bracknell, where he was working at a local car wash.
He had recently married Habiba Haidari, whom he had met at the same hotel.
Police said the motive behind the killing is still unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
