Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed a former government soldier in Parwan province, according to local sources.
The incident took place at around 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 7, in the village of Shirbaqi-Khil, Guzar-e-Payan area of Jabal al-Siraj district in Parwan province.
The former government military member, identified as Sulaiman, was reportedly shot and killed by unidentified gunmen while on his way to the mosque.
Sources indicate that the Taliban took Suleiman’s body to the 100-bed hospital in Parwan.
Although the motive and perpetrators of the killing remain unclear, local sources have attributed the responsibility to individuals affiliated with the Taliban.
So far, the Taliban have not commented on the incident.
It is worth noting that since the Taliban’s takeover, dozens of former government military members in various parts of Afghanistan have been detained, tortured, and killed by the Taliban and their affiliated groups.
