In the latest report of the global hunger index, Afghanistan has fallen six ranks and is ranked 109th among 121 countries in the world.
In this report, published on October 15 by the World Hunger Index, it is stated that Afghanistan scored 29.9 points this year.
The scores of the global hunger index are given based on the indicators of malnutrition, child stunting, and mortality, and the score of these indicators is calculated on a 100-point scale.
Based on this report, 29.8% of Afghan people suffer from malnutrition and 5.8% of children die younger than the age of five, and 38.2% of children under the age of five suffer from short stature.
In this report, it is mentioned that Afghanistan is suffering from drought, political and economic instability, extreme poverty, and the effects of the global increase in food and oil prices caused by the war in Ukraine.
The annual report of the global hunger index is prepared by two European non-profit organizations.
Meanwhile, with the establishment of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, the humanitarian situation of the country’s citizens has worsened. The world and aid organizations have always expressed concern about this situation.
