Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, on the occasion of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, called on the global community to confront hatred and prejudice against Muslims.

Guterres wrote on X on Monday night, March 16, that the world must reject narratives of fear and the exclusion of others, and work to eradicate the rising tide of anti-Muslim hatred and bigotry.

He also emphasized the need to build a world based on respect, inclusivity, justice, and peace.

Guterres previously stated that Muslims worldwide face discrimination, socio-economic deprivation, and biased immigration policies.
