Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs of India, has announced that following the devastating floods in Nuristan Province, India has sent a consignment of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan to support those affected.
Jaiswal wrote on his X account on Tuesday, July 21, that the aid had been handed over to the Taliban to be distributed among people affected by the floods.
He added that the consignment includes food supplies and family tents, and was sent to assist families affected by the recent floods in Nuristan.
The spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs also emphasized that New Delhi stands with the people of Afghanistan during this difficult period and is providing support to flood victims.
The recent floods in Nuristan have killed several citizens, left dozens missing, and caused widespread damage to homes, agricultural lands, and infrastructure in the province.
