Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, has announced the delivery of medical and pharmaceutical aid to Afghanistan.
Jaiswal said in a post on X on Thursday, August 20, that the assistance was provided as part of India’s renewed commitment to a lasting healthcare partnership with the people of Afghanistan.
According to Jaiswal, the aid includes medical equipment and medicine kits.
He added that the Indian aid packages were handed over to a government hospital in Kabul.
The development comes as the need for medicines and healthcare services in Afghanistan has increased following the closure of border crossings with Pakistan and a ban on medicine imports from the country.
