Iran’s military has claimed that it intercepted and destroyed a US MQ-9 drone over the country’s southern region.

Tasnim News Agency reported early Saturday, November 7, that the Iranian military made the claim in a statement.

According to the report, the military said the US drone was destroyed by the army’s newly deployed air defense systems.

The Iranian military also claimed that the drone was targeted and brought down over Qeshm Island in southern Iran.

Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also claimed to have intercepted and destroyed several US drones over southern Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.
