The Qatari government has denied reports claiming that the United States and Iran have failed to reach an agreement.
Al Jazeera reported early Saturday, November 7, that Qatar’s International Media Office rejected the reports in a statement.
The statement said: “Reports circulating on social media claiming that His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that the United States and Iran had failed to reach an agreement are false and misleading.”
Qatar stressed that it remains in close coordination with both the United States and Iran to support ongoing negotiations.
The denial comes after Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister, said in a public interview on Friday that the United States and Iran should not wait for a “perfect moment” to reach an agreement to end the war.
Despite extensive efforts by regional countries, tensions between Iran and the United States remain unresolved.
