Masoud Pezeshkian, president of Iran, has arrived in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
Tasnim reported early Wednesday, September 23, that the Iranian president made a brief stop in Algeria while traveling to New York.
According to the report, Pezeshkian is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly in New York today.
He is also expected to meet with the leaders of several countries attending the General Assembly as part of his schedule in New York.
This comes as U.S. President Donald Trump recently said he was prepared to meet with his Iranian counterpart.
However, it remains unclear whether Trump and Pezeshkian will meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
