ISIS has claimed responsibility for the killing of 29 people in northeastern Nigeria.
The group said in a statement on Tuesday, April 28, that it attacked the village of “Guyaku” in the Gombi area of Nigeria.
According to reports, the attackers entered the area and opened fire indiscriminately on residents. Along with the killings, they also destroyed several homes and properties.
Local officials say the motive for the attack is still unclear, but in recent years, armed and insurgent groups in northeastern Nigeria have repeatedly carried out deadly attacks on villages, leading to a sharp rise in insecurity in the country.
