The Jordanian army has said that its air force intercepted and shot down 20 missiles fired by Iran toward the Azraq region.
Petra, the official news agency of Jordan, reported on Thursday, June 11, that the interception of the Iranian-fired missiles caused no human casualties in the country.
According to the report, the Jordanian military stated that both air defense systems and the country’s air force fighter jets took part in the missile interception operation.
In recent days, Jordan has been targeted by Iranian-fired missiles due to hosting a US military base in the Azraq region.
Iranian media reported today that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted the Azraq airbase in Jordan for the second consecutive night, firing 12 ballistic missiles toward it.
This comes as Washington and Tehran are engaged in negotiations to reach an agreement to end the war between Iran and the United States.
